1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
Las Vegas, to me, represents opportunity at every turn. My family moved here from a small town when I was 9, it felt as if I stepped into a whole new world, offering pathways I could have only dreamt of in my small town. Raised by a single mother, every dollar had to stretch, and Las Vegas provided affordable opportunities to explore hobbies through extracurricular activities and summer camps. These avenues really shaped who I am today and paved the foundation for my personal and professional growth. As a businesswoman, the city has propelled my career to new heights. Its international airport serves as a gateway to my frequent travels, allowing me to blend my entrepreneurial pursuits with the joys of family life. With over 360 parks surrounding its landscape, Las Vegas transports us outdoors daily, fostering a culture of physical well-being and meaningful connection. Vegas is known for its glittering lights and renowned entertainment, but what really makes Vegas special is the sense of unity you feel here. It's a melting pot of different people and cultures, yet we all come together, especially over supporting our sports teams like the Golden Knights and the Raiders. I've seen some incredible places in my travels, but Vegas will always be home. It's where I found my footing and realized what I'm capable of. And I think that's what makes this city so unique – it's not just about the glitz and glamor, but the sense of community and opportunity that's woven into its fabric. Coming to Las Vegas opened up a world of amazing opportunities for me, and I hope it does the same for anyone looking to travel here too.
2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
For me, the most important items in my closet are my shoes and, quite simply, me. Shoes not only ground and elevate me physically but also serve as a canvas for self-expression. The legendary designer Manolo Blahnik says, "Shoes are the quickest way for women to achieve instant metamorphosis." As for myself, I believe that without my presence, the clothes in my closet lose their essence. Each garment reflects a dimension of my personality, shaping my outward expression of self.
3.What do you love to cook and why?
Pancakes hold a special place in my heart and kitchen. They were the first recipe I taught my boys, symbolizing togetherness and joy. Making pancakes isn't just about cooking a meal; it's about instilling life skills like planning, preparation, discipline, and teamwork in my children. Helping them to see a task through to the end. Cooking from scratch allows us to prioritize our health by knowing exactly what ingredients we're using. Pancakes fosters creativity as my children shape their breakfast with cookie cutters, turning mealtime into an artistic endeavor and boosting their self-esteem.
4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
With my husband, without hesitation. Even though we share our work, parenting, and living space together, it can often feel like we're just passing each other by, like two ships in the night. Despite our busy schedules, we are dedicated to prioritizing one another and cherishing the bond we've built since high school. Our love is of the utmost importance. We find comfort and connection in each other's presence. That extra hour would be a treasured gift, providing us with the chance to slow down and deepen our connection, immersing ourselves in our favorite love story - the one we’ve written together.
5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
I worked as a janitor at a professional business complex during my last year of high school and first year of trade school. But let me tell you, scrubbing public restrooms and taking out other people's trash doesn't hold a candle to what I consider my dirtiest gig—being a mom. Motherhood has brought its fair share of messy moments. From getting puked on to handling countless fecal disasters, I've dealt with it all. And while these experiences may not be glamorous, they're a testament to the love, discipline, and dedication required to raise the heroes of tomorrow.
